Sign PDF is a browser-based PDF tool on PDFToolsBase. Sign PDF: draw, type, or upload a signature, then place it using a position preset or custom X/Y. No live drag-resize. To use it, upload or drop your PDF and view the result directly in your browser — no signup and nothing to install.
Sign PDFs by drawing or typing your signature, all in your browser. Free, private, no signup — processed locally on your device.
Heads-up on the placement UI. This tool places your signature using a position preset, or optional Custom X / Y values when you choose Custom (measured from the page bottom-left in PDF points, the same units Acrobat uses), plus a signature width. It does not let you drag the signature around on a live preview, nor resize by dragging corner handles — those are common requests but require a full interactive PDF editor in JavaScript, which would blow the bundle size up past what runs smoothly on mobile. Workflow: choose a position (or Custom X/Y), click Process, check the result, and if the position is off, adjust and re-run. Repeat takes 1-2 seconds.

About this Sign PDF
Sign your PDF document with our sign pdf tool. Choose a signature method — draw with your mouse, stylus, or finger, type your name in an italic font, or upload a signature image — then choose where on the PDF to place it. Drawn signatures are embedded as PNG images, uploaded signatures are embedded as PNG/JPG images, and typed signatures are drawn as italic PDF text. This adds a visual signature only; it is not a cryptographic digital signature or certified e-signature workflow.
Your privacy is the default. Your selected files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our server; all processing happens client-side using browser PDF libraries such as pdf-lib and PDF.js where needed. Closing the tab clears the working session from this page; downloaded files remain on your device.
This tool is free to use with no signup required. Large files may be limited by your browser’s memory and device performance. Part of PDF Tools Base, a privacy-first collection of 161 PDF utilities. Bookmark the page for next time, and explore related tools in the footer below.

Frequently asked questions
Is Sign PDF safe to use?
Yes. Everything happens in your browser. Your selected files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our server. Closing the tab clears the working session from this page; downloaded outputs remain on your device until you delete them.
Do I need to register or sign in?
No. No account, no email, no sign-up. Open the page and start using the tool immediately. Free to use, no signup needed.
Is there a watermark on the output?
No. PDF Tools Base never adds a watermark or branding to your output. Your final file is clean — just what you produced from the original.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Files are processed in your browser, so RAM, page count, and file complexity affect what is feasible. Phones may struggle with large PDFs; try splitting first or use a desktop browser.
Does this work on mobile devices?
Yes. The tool works on all modern mobile browsers: Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS, Firefox, Edge, Brave. The drag-and-drop also accepts files from your phone’s file manager.
